Powering Los Angeles entirely with renewable energy can be accomplished without significant disruption to the economy or lifestyles over the next 25 years, if not sooner, according to new research conducted by USC experts for the city and federal government. The new “LA100: The Los Angeles 100% Renewable Energy Study” was released Wednesday by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The report concludes the city may reach its ambitious goal to convert entirely to renewable energy by 2045 through rapid deployment of wind and solar power, electrical storage and other technologies. USC News
