Global Director of the Schwarzenegger Institute Conyers Davis released the following statement in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s Decision in Rucho v. Common Cause and Lamone v. Benisek:
"Gerrymandering hurts American Democracy at its most fundamental level. It makes our elections unfair. Redistricting reform measures can alleviate the stain, provide for fairer elections and a less polarized country. While we are disappointed in today’s Supreme Court ruling, Governor Schwarzenegger and the Schwarzenegger Institute will continue to commit resources and the best academic minds in the country to the fight for fair maps. We can terminate gerrymandering and preserve the health of our democracy."
