Senator Fran Pavley Speaks at Vice President Al Gore’s Climate Reality Training

Vice President Al Gore recently brought his Climate Reality Training to Los Angeles, CA for a three day training session. Over 2,000 activists, scientists, policy-makers, and community leaders took part in the event. Senator Fran Pavley was a featured speaker and used the opportunity to highlight California’s leadership in passing legislation that reduced pollution, protected the environment, and addressed climate change.

Senator Pavley referenced key policies, like the cap and trade program, that helped drive California’s leadership in the fight against climate change. She also explained to the audience that everyone can be a climate leader and mentioned that some of the most successful environmental legislation began with simple ideas.

Among those inspired by Senator Pavley's panel were Schwarzenegger Institute Deputies Allison Kay and Francisca Martinez, who participated in the Climate Reality Training and are now Climate Reality Leaders.

The Schwarzenegger Institute was well-represented at this event with both an environmental hero and future leaders.
