On February 2nd David Cameron, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, spoke to the USC community at President Nikias’ Distinguished Lecture Series and following the event met with former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Governor Schwarzenegger has long valued the strong relationship that exists between California and Britain. During his two terms in office he worked closely with Prime Ministers Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and David Cameron and their respective governments on climate change, clean energy and trade issues.
Cameron, Schwarzenegger and Nikias are all global citizens who recognize the challenges and opportunities that result from operating in an ever more connected world. They share a common belief that states, nations and universities must adopt a global vision to thrive in today’s competitive market place but also share innate optimism in globalization and its ability to safeguard common values.
